More Christmas Nails :)

So I already did my nails for Christmas but my friend Bree came over the other day and I really wanted to try out some other designs so this post will be the results. I attempted but failed to do a nail polish video tutorial, yet again...I'm losing hope of ever finding a way to film me doing nail art. Anyways...

If there was a method to my madness I would share it but really it's all about taking your time and being patient. My advice, get some teeny tiny brushes from a craft store and act as if your nails are a small canvas. Try using acrlyic paint, but I prefer using plain old nail polish. Dollar General sells art deco nail stripers so grab those too.

Okay I have to say I'm not that interested in the new naked palette, I mean it kind of looks the same to the old one. Sure there are more mattes in the new one, but I really don't need that many neutral palettes.

Nude Tude however has made it on to my Christmas list. The packaging is adorable and for some reason the colors seem more interesting to me.

BH Cosmetics Gel Eyliner Review

BH Cosmetics continually makes really good quality products. I only have 4 of their new gel eyeliners but I really want more :) Anyways, they are on sale for $4 right now so if you like the review go check them out :)

Here are the swatches:

The green is called garden, the purple is ultraviolet, the brown is coffee.

I love this eyeliners! They stay on all day and are very vibrant. The green shimmer is best used in my opinion as a base for eye shadows, I do recommend using a primer before applying all over the lid though.

The blue is the most vibrant blue eyeliner I have ever used or encountered, I really suggest that one :)

The brown is great for when you want a subtle eyeliner during the day, and the purple is another standout color that is really great for edgy looks.

Christmas Nails 2011

Every year I do holiday themed nail art, my favorite definitely has to be Christmas (after Halloween of course). I attempted to to a live video tutorial of each nail design but it didn't quite pan out well so I stuck to pictures (I don't know how cute polish does it!)

In order to create these nails I used acrylic paint for the first time. I usually just use layers of nail polish so it was tricky for me to use it at first. I ended up using mostly nail polish and a few accents with acrylic paint.

The brushes I use can be found at Sally's, Ebay, and your local craft store. The thinner and smaller the brush the better.

If you are new at doing nail art I suggest you learn a lot of patience. You need to wait for every layer of nail polish to dry before you can continue painting. As in, draw the first snowman circle, wait for that to dry, paint the second snowman circle, wait for that to dry, paint on the scarf, wait to dry, draw the stripes in the scarf, you see where I'm going with this.

It helps to alternate between nails and drying times.

Tokidoki 24 Karat Skate Deck Eyeshadow Palette Review

After I got the Soda Shop Palette I became a really big fan of Tokidoki. This palette is totally my style and I love it! It is actually on sale for $29, which I think is a total steal.

Here are pictures of the palette:

The palette itself is kind of cheap looking and is made of cardboard. I would have liked a metal tin or something like the original naked palette. The width is more than an 1 inch, so it's kinda bulky too. Other than that the palette is awesome!

The top row has sheerer colors, I would mostly use them for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes. The bottom row has vibrant crease colors, they are all pigmented.

I love this palette and it would be a great Christmas gift :)

My Glam by Michelle Phan Review

So after being severely disappointed with birchbox and canceling my service from them, I decided to subscribe to a new beauty subscription service headed by YT makeup guru Michelle Phan. If you don't know who Michelle is then you haven't been on YT (she is like the biggest makeup youtuber, and is sponsored by freaking Lancome!).

BH Cosmetics Waterproof Lip Liner Review

I love BH cosmetics, plain and simple. It's actually funny because I don't own any of their palettes, which they are mostly known for. They make the best soft and affordable brushes, awesome gel liners, and lip liners!

I have the majority of the lip liners they sell so I thought I'd do a little review for you.

Here they are swatched:

(From left to right: Nude, Earth, Rouge, Blossom, Coral,and Raspberry.

Nude is kinda a browny nude color, not quite as "nude" as the name would imply. Nonetheless I love using this for everyday, and it gives a nice nude look to the lips but with a bit more color. It's not as brown looking on the lips.


Earth is more of a true nude, for lighter skin tones anyway. Perfect for idiot proof nude lips, and it pairs well with just a gloss on top.

Rouge I'm not the biggest fan of for my skin color. It's kind of a red-brown color, which would probably be better for darker skin tones.

Blossom I call the perfect pink lip liner because it pairs well with just about any pink lipstick.

Coral is not a color coral by any means, but it is nice for hot pink lips.

Raspberry is just a bit lighter than coral, also very nice.

Overall I love these lip liners. They are very smooth and creamy, and don't dry out your lips as much as a MAC lip liner might. The best part is that they are under $3 each!!! Right now they are 40% off at $1.77. Try them out and let me know what you think :)

How much makeup is too much makeup.....

It's no secret I'm a makeup addict, in fact I constantly have dreams that I win tons of free makeup. In reality I have won a few makeup contests and giveaways. Most recently a MUFE flash palette ($95!!). The sad thing is I still want more, and asked for a lot of makeup in my Christmas list this year (besides the new Lego Harry Potter yrs 5-7 game for wii!). I completely blame YouTube for this obsession, I had never even heard of brands like MAC, Urban Decay, and Too Faced before YT. I honestly didn't even start wearing more than eyeliner and foundation untill college, when the craze began. Perhaps I should start a Makeup Addicts Anonymous group.

Nah...I'd probably just end up buying things on the DL ;)

Inglot Rainbow Eyeshadows Review

Anyways, I have another review for you and I am so excited to finally have a palette from Inglot. Many beauty gurus on YT love and use Inglot, especially pursebuzz.

So here are the eye shadows I got:

I love these shadows, and they are very pigmented even though they are matte. The texture of these eye shadows are very buttery, and not chalky at all. I have to tell you I'm not a fan of matte shades, but these blew me away.

The empty palette itself has a really strong magnet, so getting these eye shadows out would probably be a pain. In any case, the palette is sleek and very well made.

The rainbow eye shadow pans are $5.95 each, and the 3 pan palette is $5.95 as well. I wish I could afford to buy all of the colors!
